Lyrics

I wonder if when we read our books
If the page we turn is the one that looks.
As it ponders the curious mind that reads
It writes the story and plants the seeds.

When the reader yawns and goes to bed,
The book stays open inside their head.
Where all the characters seem alive and true,
You have to wonder, “who reads who?”

The pen is mightier than any sword
The two edge blade is truth we’re told
And paper beats a rock each time
and dreaming it don’t cost a dime.

The pages fly by so very fast
Next thing you know a chapter’s past
The book has pulled you in so deep,
you can’t turn back, you’re fast asleep.

I wonder if when we read our books
If the page we turn is the one that looks.
As it ponders the curious mind that reads
It writes the story and plants the seeds.

Instrumental....

Your mother tucks you in your bed,
turns out the light, kisses your head.
It’s then the dream glows warm and bright
From another world, you say, “good-night”.
